On January 21, 2020, 黑料社launched the 20th annual 黑料社Trust Barometer at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Each year, the Trust Barometer launch reveals insights that help leaders navigate society鈥檚 rapid changes.
This year鈥檚 report reveals a global pushback against the foundation of capitalist society. Fifty-six percent of respondents agree that 鈥渃apitalism as it exists today causes more harm than good in the world,鈥 and less than one in five agree that the 鈥渟ystem is working for them.鈥
Against this backdrop of skepticism, we spoke to a panel of distinguished leaders to hear their thoughts and ideas on what needs to be done to rebuild trust in the four major institutions of business, government, media and NGOs. This year, our panel included:
- Helle Thorning-Schmidt, Former Prime Minister of Denmark
- Brad Smith, President, Microsoft
- Sabina Flux脿, Vice-Chairman & CEO, Iberostar Group
- Jimmy Wales, Founder, Wikipedia
- Yoshito Hori, Founder & President, GLOBIS University and Founding Partner, GLOBIS Capital Partners
The panel was moderated by Thorold Barker, EMEA Editor of The Wall Street Journal, with an introduction by Richard Edelman, CEO of Edelman.
